Where indigenous and local knowledge
meets global strategy

I am Naisula Lepariyo — a consultant, advisor and speaker rooted in the pastoralist communities of Northern Kenya, operating at the intersection of gender transformation, social impact strategies, indigenous knowledge, and community-led development.

With expertise across research, women's participation, local-led action, and social impact strategy, I work with international organisations, foundations, social impact departments, NGOs, and development institutions who want broader, more grounded perspectives — and strategies that actually work where it matters most.

Born in a pastoralist village in Northern Kenya and now based between Berlin and Nairobi, I bridge lived experience with rigorous expertise to challenge assumptions, shift narratives, and design initiatives that truly centre the communities they serve. Through that I support partnership building and connection.

I hold a Master's in Development Evaluation and Management from the University of Antwerp, Belgium and a BSc in Disaster Management from Masinde Muliro University, Kenya. Having worked across various roles in the development sector, my work draws its foundation from my upbringing, my education, and the experience I have built along the way.

My Story is My Expertise

The experiences that shape my work

01

Lived realities

I grew up in a pastoralist community surrounded by nature and wildlife. Spending my childhood herding our livestock, learning the land, navigating climate change and absorbing and valuing indigenous knowledge systems that most development frameworks have never tried to understand. This is not background. This is expertise.

Built successful businesses

At 23, I built a successful business that grew into three companies, a football team, and a lifetime of hard-won lessons. That journey taught me why local ownership, ambition, and community trust are the only foundations that last.

Community-led projects

When statistics came in and girls from my former school had a 50% dropout rate, I mobilised resources and we started by addressing access to menstrual hygiene and knowledge — next came the first ever library in my community. Rather than assuming the needs, I appreciate sitting down and having real conversations, planning and prioritising together.

04

Multiple experiences

I have lived in Kenya, Belgium, Denmark and Germany — and worked in Cameroon, Kenya and Somalia, consulting for organisations including the European Development Bank, DFID, the Global Center for Gender & Technology under Stanford University, Common Light, and many more.
